This post discuses all of the right points to determine economic value to evaluate data and the cost of architecture and its maintenance. However, as a business valuator, I know that value is not defined in a vacuum but in a open market. So determining in determining the economic value of data, one has to use some kind of a reference, the reference typically is like minded competitors. Benchmarking from competitors on economic value of data will really put things in a good perspective.
